Conversational AI tools like ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, and Grammarly have become regular staples in my day-to-day and are here to stay. But they also come with some really big-time drains and require major, major rework.
So, AI, while I ❤️ you for...
✅ Assisting with outlining content and brainstorming ideas
✅ Catching grammatical errors and inconsistencies
✅ Summarizing long content into concise executive summaries
✅ Tirelessly suggesting new versions and angles to try
(This checkmark section is a great example (and the only one that I used AI) used to summarize my blabber into 4 awesome bullets (edited by me of course!)
I kinda hate 😡 that you...
❌ Never capture my natural tone and voice
(actual example... "Breathing life into the scaffolding of content development, your prowess in generating initial outlines is unparalleled." - 👀 👀 What????)
❌ Use awkward or outdated phrasing at times
(actual example..."Yet, amid the apparent time-saving capabilities" really? Am I reading Moby Dick? Amid the swirling see the white whale crested, argh...)
❌ Lose context and meaning when editing content
(actual example.."ChatGTP: I apologize for the oversight. Here's the revised version."
❌ Require more time revising than if I wrote 100% of it myself!
So AI, I know we are just starting this relationship together. For now, I'm gonna let some things go. It's a work in progress and we'll resolve our differences over time.
